Polyethylene (PE) is one of the most important plastics today, especially thermoplastics, which are those that deform with heat.
In the case of polyethylene, the deformation and melt temperature is between 110 and 115 ° C. Polyethylene can exist in five different variations, which are:
HDPE (high density polyethylene);
LDPE (low density polyethylene);
PELBD (linear low density polyethylene or LLDPE);
PEUAPM (ultra high molecular weight polyethylene);
PEUBD (ultra low density polyethylene).
All can be recycled and marketed as recovered material.
Polypropylene (PP) is a low-cost, easy-to-process semi-crystalline thermoplastic.
It is a commonly used material but is used in many engineering applications.
This is due to the high versatility of this material, which can be have very different properties, ranging from soft touch to the high rigidity of glass fiber grids.
This broad range of properties and applications is achieved through sophisticated methods of co-polymerization and additivation.
PVC is the name by which polyvinyl chloride is known, a plastic that arises from the polymerization of the chloroethylene monomer (also known as vinyl chloride). The components of PVC are derived from sodium chloride and natural gas or petroleum, and include chlorine, hydrogen and carbon.
In its original state, PVC is an amorphous and whitish powder. The resin resulting from this polymerization is a plastic that can be used in a variety of ways, since it allows to produce flexible or rigid objects.
One of the most interesting properties of PVC is the fact that it is thermoplastic: when subjected to heat, it becomes soft and can be molded easily. Cooling, recover the previous solidity without losing the new physiognomy.
